I provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) in Harborne, Birmingham. I have been using CBT for 6 years and am accredited with the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists). I work with a range of mental health difficulties which include:
Generalised Anxiety Disorder
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
My interest in CBT began at my undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Psychology at Loughborough University. My early career involved roles in the NHS and I have since worked for a charity and now in private practice and locum roles. I offer private practice through Jenna L Sellis CBT and also work privately at The Priory Wellbeing Centre in Birmingham City Centre.
In the past two years I have specialised in the area of Eating Disorders, having had an interest in this area for many years. My Masters research focused on the area of eating disorders and was published in the Eating Disorder Journal Appetite. With these difficulties, I often work closely with a Dietician and medical professionals to offer a package of care which encompasses physical and emotional wellbeing.
I am passionate about mental health and am always keen to keep up to date with research and new developments. Due to my enthusiasm for this area, I also set up a company with two colleagues offering workshops in schools to help promote positive mental health in early life (http://www.educatingminds.org.uk).
